Jose Mari, most commonly referred to as “Joe Mari” by most of his
contemporaries, have seen the unstoppable force of time, and how it has bore
it’s effects on his surroundings. He finds a strong desire to paint the stories that
time has etched unto different objects such as the houses, buildings, and people
around him.
According to him, it is his duty to preserve these fleeting moments in
his canvas, before they erode forever.
He has joined in countless group of exhibitions throughout the years, including
several form of Portrait Artists’ Society of the Philippines (PASPI), as well as one
man shows in Qube gallery.
