ArtistBio
Bacolod based artist, JR (Wilfredo) Hilario, has been honing his skills in drawing since his high school years.
His works were inspired by the Negrense Slice of Life, focusing on the common folks whom he observed while growing up, folks like, sugar land farmers and workers, fishermen and fish vendors, and street vendors, who worked hard to give their families a decent life.
His contemporary art uses bold colors to give an irony on tough life of his subjects, and accentuate it with geometrical figures to express the obscure web of life.
He considers Negrense artist Nunelucio Alvarado as an influence and an inspiration.
